Crosswind Paddle Company presents - The 2017 Richmond Paddle Cup, a benefit race for the Surfrider Foundation - Virginia Beach Chapter. The race will be held on the James River just outside of the capital city on August 5, 2017 at the American Legion Landing in Midlothian, VA. There will be a Fun Paddle (2.5 mi) for more beginner and recreational paddlers and a Long Course (5.0 mi) for more experienced racers. The long course will be a flatwater race from The Landing to the 288 Bridge and back! The Fun Paddle will feature a buoy course for paddlers to circuit. SUPs, Kayaks, and Canoes will be allowed to participate in either event. After the events have concluded, there will be an award ceremony with gifts and prizes, as well as refreshments, food, and live music for participants and guests to enjoy. All racers will receive a free commemorative event t-shirt, 2 drink tickets, and a swag bag upon registration. If you are interested in the paddle but do not have your own SUP, rentals will be available courtesy of Crosswind Paddle Company & East Coast Board Sports. The rentals will be offered on a first come first serve basis, so make sure you to put your name in early!
