2018 Salt Life Columbus Cup

The World Paddle Association (WPA) in conjunction with Uptown Columbus RiverFest will host the 2018 Salt Life Columbus Cup on May 5-6, 2018 in Columbus, GA.   The event will be conducted on the Chattahoochee River (90 miles South of Atlanta, GA) and three blocks from downtown Columbus.  There will be open entry for all competitors in all races, however each competitor should decide which race with best suit their ability.  Our event will be part of the Columbus RiverFest presented by Salt Life, which brings together the local community to celebrate water activities and safety that include 3 days of food, drink and bands at the event site.

The Salt Life Columbus Cup will also be a Salt Life Cup event that will offer the top placing Open and Junior competitors (3 mile technical race) free entry into the 2018 Pacific Paddle Games race on October 5 & 6th at Doheny State Beach, CA Presented by Salt Life.  Find more information at  www.worldpaddleassociation.com.  The Salt Life Columbus Cup will include the following races and board divisions, 3 mile Open SUP & Prone technical race, 1 & 3 mile Kids races, 4-5 mile SUP Pro technical race on Saturday and a 6-7 mile distance race on Sunday for Surfski, OC1 & OC2, SUP ULT and Prone ONLY.

This year we will introduce the WPA 1 Mile Challenge, were paddlers will be ranked based on craft, gender and age group worldwide and one of the combo events.  The Combo races will include the Technical race for and the 1 mile time trial for SUP Open, Juniors and Pro Elite.  OC, Surfski and Prone will include the Distance race and 1 mile time trial.  You can find the full race schedule below with travel and hotel discounts below.  All race distances, times and days are tentative and subject to change given the weather and water flow.  Prize money will be offered to OC, Surfski and Prone divisions entered in the combined Distance/1 Mile Time Trial races along with the Pro-Elite SUP Combined Technical & 1 Mile Time Trial to the top finishers overall across the line (money breakdown pending).

Uptown Columbus is offering free camping one block from the event site.  Recommended for self contained vehicles as there is no power are water available.

Board Storage (200 yds from event site)

Board and craft storage will be available for all competitors from Friday, May 4th to Monday, May 7th at 12pm.  The board storage will be closed and locked from 8pm to 7am each day.  Storage will be open from 7am to 8pm each day Friday to Sunday.  Storage is the responsibility of each person that stores any product or board.  We highly advise to ONLY store boards or vessels and remove all personal items like PFD's, paddles and other accessory items so they do not walk off in others hands.  Here is the storage address:
