Crosswind Paddle Company presents - The 2022 Richmond Paddle Cup, a benefit race for the James River Association. The race will be held on the James River just outside of the capital city on August 27, 2022 at Robious Landing Park in Midlothian, VA. There will be a Fun Paddle (1.0 mi) for more beginner and recreational paddlers, a Short Course (2.5 mi) for intermediate paddlers, a Long Course (5.0 mi) for more experienced racers, and a 22-Mile Rundown for endurance kayak and canoers! The Rundown will be a mixture of flatwater and rapids from Powhatan State Park down to Robious Landing Park. The Long Course will be a flatwater race from Robious Landing Park to the 288 Bridge and back! The Short Course will feature buoy's for paddlers to circuit and the Fun Paddle will take place in front of the park. SUPs, Kayaks, and Canoes will be allowed to participate in either event, however only Kayakers and Canoers will be allowed to participate in the Rundown race. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers in the Rundown race, the Long Course and the Short Course races for Men and Women (Minimum of 5 people participating in the event in order to get awarded). After the events have concluded, there will be an award ceremony with gifts and prizes, as well as refreshments, food, and music for participants and guests to enjoy. All participants will receive an event t-shirt upon registration. If you are interested in a paddle event but do not have your own SUP, rentals will be available courtesy of Crosswind Paddle. The rentals will be offered on a first come first serve basis, so make sure you to put your name in early!

Once again, this event is a fundraiser for the James River Association whose mission is to be guardian of the James River. They provide a voice for the river and take action to promote conservation and responsible stewardship of its natural resources.
