The 4th Annual GIC SUP Cup returns to Downtown Montgomery's stretch of the Alabama River known as the Gun Island Chute, with new racing categories and divisions! The 3- and 6- mile courses remain the same; an exciting lap-based course will give paddlers a unique racing experience on flat, steady-flowing water. A youth-only 1-mile sprint joins the format this year with an up-river start and a finish with the current. A member of the Southern Stoke Paddle Series, the Gun Island Chute SUP Cup promises to deliver one of the South's most unique paddling competitions. 

In addition to Stand-Up Paddleboards, participants may register to race with the following:

• 6-Mile and 3-Mile courses: SUP, Solo Canoe, and Solo Kayak
• 1-Mile youth-only* course: SUP, Solo Kayak

*Ages 8-18. Divisions will be 8-10, 11-14, and 15-18.

Registration for any division and course length will include a free event t-shirt if registered by 12:00pm CST Friday, June 18

All Paddlers MUST register on the PaddleGuru race page INCLUDING the 2nd paddler in a tandem canoe. 

Prizes and trophies will be awarded for each category and division. A division MUST have a minimum of 6 registrants in order to be eligible for prizes and awards. SUP divisions are not separated by differing board lengths:

• 6-Mile Course: Cash prizes and trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place SUP finishers, male and female. Cash-prize details below:

- 1st place male and female (SUP): $500

- 2nd place male and female (SUP): $250

- 3rd place male and female (SUP): $125

• 6-Mile Course Kayak/Open will be awarded trophies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place male and female finishers (minimum of 6 racers)
• 3-Mile Course: Swag prizes and trophies for 1st - 3rd finishers, male and female. Swag prizes to be announced soon.
