Bear Mountain Paddle Race for Charity 2022


The Bear Mountain Paddle Race is a scenic paddle race on the Hudson River. 

Join us for this amazing fall classic! Just 40 miles from Manhattan and located in the beautiful Hudson Valley, there is plenty to do in the area and make it a great weekend for those coming from out of town.

The Bear Mountain Paddle race strengthens the mission of HVH2O by increasing environmental education and awareness on the Peekskill Riverfront.


Date: Saturday, October 8, 2022

Time: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM*

*Check-in starts at 8am


****Registration Closes at 9am the day of the race****


Events:

8 mile Elite Race       From Riverfront Park to Bear Mountain Bridge and back

4 mile Sprint Race     From Riverfront Park around Fish Island

2 mile fun paddle      A circuit around the Peekskill Bay


Age Groups:

Youth: 5-17

Women: 18–49, 50+

Men: 18–49, 50+


Race categories:

SUP 14' and under

Kayak, Canoe or Surfski

OC-1, OC-2

Prone


If there are 3 or more participants in any class there will be awards for that class.  Otherwise the class stays in the group it's in.


Timeline: 

  1. Check-in starts at 8:00am

  2. Gather at 9:15AM at Peekskill Waterfront.

  3. Launch racers at 10:00am 

  4. Racers return about 11:00am–12:00pm 

  5. Charity paddlers return at 12pm.

  6. After Party and Awards at Gazebo. 


*All paddlers must have a PFD and board leash  to participate. This is for our paddlers safety and protection. 


Donation Policy: By making a charitable gift via registration or sponsorship to The Bear Mountain Paddle Race,  you understand that your registration fees and other costs will not be refunded and will be considered a donation to support benefiting charities.

Bear Mountain Paddle Race can cancel the race due to the occurrence of any majeure force event or credible threat thereof, including but not limited to any Act of God, fire, earthquake, acts of civil or military authority, casualty, flood, war, terrorist attack, epidemic, insurrection, civil unrest, strikes or other labor activities or any other similar cause beyond the reasonable control of Bear Mountain Paddle, including environmental conditions that might threaten the health and safety of event participants, volunteers or staff.
