Eligibility

Any person shall be eligible to compete in the Paddleboard Race who, in addition to the approval and acceptance of the Race Directors, can meet the following qualifications:

(A)  18 years of age or older (copy of birth certificate may be required). Exceptions can be made with parental approval.
(B)  A Paddler may be required to provide a written Doctors approval to compete upon the request of the Race Directors.
(C)  Paddler must provide own escort boat; said boat must meet Committee minimum standards of Radio and Compass-USCG approved safety gear.
(D)  The Race Directors and appointed committee may require completion of one or more designated qualifying races. Placing and finishing times will be used to determine competency and competitiveness.

Pre-Qualifiers (Catalina Classic paddlers finished within two hours of their respective class winner):

• Registration: May 15 - June 15th.
• Stock Women qualifying time: Under 9:00 
• Stock Men qualifying time: 8:59
• Unlimited Men qualifying time: 7:47

Open-Qualifiers (Paddlers who did not qualify via 2023 Classic):

• Registration: June 20 - July 20th.
• Paddlers must submit a race resume including results from 1-3 races from 2024.
• The Race Directors will attempt to fill all 100 entries based upon pre-qualified applicants, open qualifier race results, and committee selections of International entries.
• The race committee will compare results of all Open-Qualifiers at the conclusion of the registration window.
• Open-Qualifiers will pay all race fees upon application, and either be notified of admission or refunded by July 30th.

Open-Qualifiers can submit up to 3 results from any 2024 paddleboard races for consideration.  All results will be evaluated based upon course distance, conditions, and level of competition.  International entries with limited access to qualifying races should email the directors in addition to completing the on-line registration.
