Although Cape Ann Rowing Club cancelled the official Essex River Race, this surfski-only race will serve as an unofficial replacement.  We have obtained approval from the town of Essex to hold this race on the original course (thanks to Tom Lawler and Bill Kuklinski) on the condition that all vehicles are parked in the (free) municipal lot behind the police station.

There is no charge for the race, but we ask that you pre-register so that we have an idea of how many people to expect.  There will be no food, awards, T-shirts, etc.  This is a casual "Rhode Island style" race - we'll all start together, but you'll keep your own time and report it to the race director immediately afterwards.

Registration will be from 8:30am to 9:30am.  Captains meeting at 9:30am.  Race start at 10:00am.

There are public restrooms behind the municipal parking lot, but there's not guarantee they'll be open.  So plan accordingly.
