A flatwater race for all types of paddling craft on the Farmington River in Simsbury, Conn., on July 4.

Race Length: 7.5 miles 

Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Race starts at 10:30 a.m.

Race is part of the New England Canoe and Kayak Racing Association Flatwater Point Series.

All types of racing craft are welcome, including canoes, kayaks, SUPs, outrigger canoe, and surfskis. 

There will be a shorter recreation course of about 4 miles.

The race course includes both upstream and downstream paddling and a relatively narrow river. Water depth depends on seasonal rainfall. 

Entry fee is $20 per paddler.
