The Gig Harbor Paddlers Cup is a premier event for Pacific Northwest canoe, kayak, paddleboard and outrigger athletes and enthusiasts with races for all ages and experience levels. This is a family-friendly event both on and off the water!
Organized by the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team in cooperation with the Tacoma South Sound Sports Commission and the City of Gig Harbor, this annual community festival features racing for kayaks, canoes, stand up and prone paddle boards, outriggers and para-canoes, and community dragon boat races. Vendors line Skansie Park both days, and spectators have an excellent view of racing from the Skansie Park Welcome Center view platform, from the park, and from Jerisich Dock.
All proceeds from the event support Gig Harbor's six-time national champion sprint canoe/kayak racing team, which serves community youth ages 8 - 18, para athletes, and adults. GHCKRT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and its programs are open to all interested community members.
