The 3rd Annual Gun Island Chute SUP Cup takes place on Downtown Montgomery's stretch of the Alabama River known as the Gun Island Chute. An exciting lap-based course will give paddlers a unique racing experience on flat, steady-flowing water. A member of the Southern Stoke Paddle Series, the Gun Island Chute SUP Cup is hosted by the longtime local non-profit, Montgomery Dragon Boat Race and Festival. While not in conjunction with the Dragon Boat Festival this year, the GIC SUP Cup promises to deliver one of the South's most unique SUP competitions. See details below...

The Gun Island Chute SUP Cup will include a 6 mile long course and 3 mile short course.

Registration includes a free event t-shirt (if registered by 8/9/19) and access to the Athlete's Hospitality suite.

The 6 Mile Race will award medals for 1st - 3rd place for overall male and female:

Cash Prizes will be awarded for 1st-3rd place finishers in the 6 mile race. Prizes will be given to the overall top 3 male and top 3 female finishers for the long course in the following amounts (regardless of age and board size):

1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $250
3rd Place: $125

The 3 Mile Race will award medals for overall 1st - 3rd for male and female. Yeti coolers, too.

Board Storage begins at 4:00pm on Friday. Call Andrew at 334-625-9411 for drop-off and morning-of access information.

Sunrise Yoga with Breezeville Yoga at 6:15am on the Amphitheatre Stage.

Check-in begins at 7:00am.

Cold brew Coffee from Prevail Union Montgomery, free for registrants.

Pre-Race Meeting: 7:45am

Race start time: 8:00am
