Heal the Beach Downwind Paddleboard Race

Thank you so much for participating in this year’s Heal the Beach

Downwind Paddleboard Race. Heal the Beach is a student-run club at Ventura High School. The money raised by this race will not only go towards paying for the race, but will also fund future beach cleanups and other beach conservation projects, such as the Adopt a Gutter project. The paddleboard race has been a completely independent event put on solely by the Heal the Beach club.

The entry fee for the Heal the Beach Downwinder is $35.00 (day of the race is $40.00) This covers the race T-shirt, awards, prizes, Corrales burritos, race-production and fundraising purposes for our school club.  Entries will  be accepted the day of the race on the beach for $40. Extra T-shirts will be available for purchase at the end of the race. The race will start at Mondos (Faria) Beach and will finish off the end of the Ventura Pier. All transportation to and from the start and/or finish of the race is your responsibility. All minors participating in the Heal the Beach Downwinder must have an authorized guardian signature. We ask that you arrive at Mondos by 12:00 pm in order to check-in and get a good warm up to be ready for the 1:30 pm start.

Liability Waiver (you must read and sign in order to participate):

In consideration on my entry in the Heal the Beach Downwinder starting at Mondo’s Beach and ending at the Ventura Pier on Saturday, September 28th, 2018, I for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, waive and release any and all rights and claims for negligence I may have or accrue against the State of California (lifeguards), Ventura High School, Heal the Beach administrators or members, Ventura Unified School District, its Board of Education, Administrators, Directors, Officers, Employees or Agents, Faria Beach Homeowners Association and any other affiliate of this race or its production, for any and all damages or injuries or death which may be suffered as a result of my participation. I am aware that any time I am on the water, I am first and foremost responsible for my safety. I attest and verify that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the competition of this race. I am completely and solely responsible for my own safety. I understand that this event might be photographed for future advertising on a website. I authorize the unconditional use of my image for

this reason while participating in this event.
