The Iron Mike Paddle

Originally started in 2009 when three Solana Beach Lifeguards paddled from San Onofre to Solana Beach in honor of Mike.  After a few years figuring out how to make Mike's Paddle an annual event, this year will be the 6th Annual Iron Mike Festival. The paddle is now a 5 mile Prone and SUP race (mas o menos). Open ocean water start (might have to get through some surf as Mike would have liked it). Great for all ages and skill levels. 1 Mile Grom race for kids ages 10-17 or you parents can have the groms do the 5 miler with you. Decide on race day. *PLEASE NOTE* Trophy's to first place finishers only. Groms who compete in 5 mile race will place with rest of 5 mile race field. 1st place finishers in grom race categories will receive trophy's. Paddle starts at 8AM at Fletcher Cove. The Grom-O-Rama

The Solana Beach Lifeguard Association's Grom-O-Rama surf contest to run alongside our Iron Mike Paddle. The first heat of the contest will start at 8AM at Fletcher Cove.
