Jamestown Double Beaver 2019

June 29 @ Conanicut Yacht Club, Jamestown, RI, United States

GENERAL INFO

The Jamestown Double Beaver race will be held on June 29, 2019. Hosted by Tim Dwyer and his family, this approximately 10 mile race on Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay is a true open-water event, with rough ocean conditions likely. Although primarily for surfskis, outrigger canoes are also welcome to participate. The scenery is stunning with dramatic cliffs, House on the Rocks and colorful modern and traditional sailing vessels at this unforgettable venue.

There is a $30 registration fee for this race to cover lunch and other costs.  There is no race day registration. Those registering by June 24th (the Monday before the race) will be eligible for raffle prizes. No formal awards will be given (although 2018 winners had to wear Thug Life sunglasses, cigar and gold chain for noteworthy photos), but this race is part of both the SurfskiRacing.com and New England Surfski point series. A post-race lunch will be provided.

Epic Kayaks has been a long-time sponsor of the Double Beaver and has generously donated door prizes in the past (a paddle and gift certificates). We expect that Epic will continue their support.

Here's a link to the course map.  The race starts at the Conanicut Yacht Club and follows the coastline south turning directly on the Beavertail NR buoy to return.  Depending on conditions, the course may be changed.  Paddlers will meet at the beach across the road from the Bay Voyage Inn in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Please park on Bay View Drive (across from the Bay Voyage Inn) or on Buloid Avenue. Do not park in the Yacht Club parking lot.

Schedule
8:30 - Registration and check-in
