The Jamestown Double Beaver race is June 29, 2024. Hosted byTim Dwyer, this 10 mile race on Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay is a true open-water event, with rough ocean conditions likely. Expect fantastic scenery and beautiful sailing vessels along the way. Although primarily for surfskis, outrigger canoes or other sea going paddle craft are also welcome to participate.
There is no registration fee for this race!! But please sign-up beforehand so we know how many paddlers to expect. No formal awards will be given, but this race is part of both the SurfskiRacing.comandNew England Surfskipoint series.
Epic Kayaks has been a long-time sponsor of the Double Beaver and has generously donated wing paddles, hats and paddle clothing to be raffled off.
Here's alink to the course map. The race starts off the dock of the Yacht Club and follows the coastline south turning directly on the Beavertail NR buoy to return. Depending on conditions, the course may be changed. Paddlers will meet at the beach across the road from the Bay Voyage Inn in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Please park on Bay View Drive (across from the Bay Voyage Inn).

Bring a beach chair for hanging out afterwards. Most likely we’ll be walking downtown to grab lunch together.
Disclaimer and Warning This race is being run under theCommon Adventuremodel. You are responsible for your own safety. The race directors assume no liability. All paddlers must have a PFD, leg or paddle leash, phone or VHF radio in waterproof case, and whistle. Failure to carry these items will result in exclusion from the official results. Orange smoke flares are highly recommended, but not required. Do not register for this race unless you are comfortable paddling alone in rough water and have the ability to self rescue.
