Key West Paddle Classic

LIVE Event is happening! 

*ONLINE REGISTRATION OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT SEPTEMBER 30th!*

COVID COMPLIANT EVENT: 
For public safety, City of Key West & Monroe County mandates for Physical distancing and Mask up         initiative will be enforced!  

FACE COVER REQUIRED: 
BUFFS will be provided in race goody bag! 
All event participants, volunteers & staff must wear a mask, buff, or other mouth and nose face cover    while on the beach (unless eating or drinking.) Face cover may be removed prior to getting on the water for race however, must be replaced when back on shore.  

DISTANCING: 
"Gathering" is limited to 10 persons or less. Participants are to maintain CDC's recommendation of        spacing 6 feet apart. Groups and families who have traveled together may congregate closer together.

REGISTRATION 
Closes at Midnight, Wednesday, Sept 30th. 
Open race registration is from 5-7pm, Friday, October 2nd at Higgs Beach  

AWARDS
This year awards will be announced after the top 5 of each division cross the finish line!

Take the challenge on circumnavigating the Island of Key West! Paddle the 12- mile distance individually in one of our various divisions or team up with your buds for the 3-person Stand-Up Relay Race! 

Stay for Sunday Funday and take a cruise out to one of our secluded island sand bars to hang out, relax and enjoy a festive cookout!

Relay, OC2, OC6, SS2, SS3, & V3 team entries please read carefully:

First: One member will register team at "main registration" with the link at the bottom of this page. You will be asked to list your other team members. Team registration will be paid by first person to register.  (Teammates can reimburse from here)

Second:  All other team members must REGISTER HERE (at no additional charge) for to select shirt size and sign waiver. 

AWARDS 

NEW: This year, division awards will be announced as soon as the top 5 of each race division have crossed the finish line. 

Awards recognition require three or more competitors per division.  The start list will be open for you to monitor and switch divisions as needed. Event participation has always been open to all man-powered vessels however we will only podium divisions that meet this three or more competitor requirement.

*protests must take place within 15 minutes after race closes*

Please be sure you are on the craft you have registered for, this is paddlers responsibility not race directors!

We take your safety serious and will be following rules as recommended by the USCG, LAZY DOG & the WPA!

1. YOU MUST HAVE FUN!
2. PFDS & LEASHES - Required.  
3. DRAFTING - Drafting is permitted, however you can only draft the same board size and same gender. 
4. SUP KNEE PADDLING  - There is a 5 stroke minimum rule that applies to all Stand Up racers. (Please only use knee paddling if you must do so for safety/exhaustion. It very important to the Key West Paddle Classic that you finish the race safely.)  
5. NOTE: HYDRATION PACKS (Camelbak/VestPac) Recommended- Personal water supply is paddlers responsibiilty.  Safety boats will be equipped with water in case of emergency.     

 

Attention Vendors: 

Vendors are invited to exhibit and retail products at all Key West Paddle Classic events listed on schedule.  Each vendor site allocation is for a 10x10 tent space. Other specifications will require pre-approval.  Costs are $100 for a single day/event and $200 for multiple days/events.  Vendors can register here at Paddleguru.  We will be hosting Happy Hour at Lazy Dog and all event parties at Salute!
