Overview
The rural waters of Spartanburg County's Lake Blalock are home to the Lake Blalock Paddle Blast, offering races for kayaks, surf skis, canoes, paddleboards, and other self-powered craft. Lake Blalock's 1105 acres and 45 miles of shoreline are a reservoir maintained as a source of drinking water for Spartanburg County, and offer paddlers a clean, scenic setting for competition. Beginners and advanced paddlers are welcome and are grouped by age and the speed of the craft to keep the racing fair. Choose between long (six mile/10 km) and short (three mile/5 km) loop courses.
Registration Fees
Adult: $40.
Under age 16: $20.00. To receive the youth discount when registering, enter the following Coupon Code: Under 16.
Late registration: $50 adults, $30 under age 16 after midnight, Saturday, June 1.
If you want a T shirt, you must register by May 26. Later registrations aren't guaranteed a shirt.
Registration closes at 6 pm on Thursday, June 6.

Our Deserving Cause
The Lake Blalock Paddle Blast has selected the SC Adopt-a-Stream Program to receive all race profits. SC Adopt-a-Stream volunteers play an important role in monitoring and tracking water quality in a network of watershed stewardship, engagement and education. SC AAS volunteers are very active in the Spartanburg watersheds. Profits from the registration fees will help refill monitoring kit supplies in Spartanburg County.
