Malibu 2 Marina Championship Race 2020

GENERAL INFO

It's finally official, The 2020 Malibu 2 Marina Championship Race has been postponed/cancelled due to the concerned spread of the COID-19 virus. 
It is our hope that once they are allowing permits for events to continue, that we can hold the event this year at later date TBD.

KEIKI RACE

We will be offering a FREE race for the Keiki. This will start at Mother's Beach head down the channel around D basin buoy and back.
Lunch is included for the Keiki FREE but-19 if they would like an event shirt there is a $5.00 fee that can be paid that morning at check-in.

SHORT COURSE: 5.2 Miles

OC1, OC2, Surfski, Prone, SUP & other vessels

Will start and finish at Mother’s Beach, Marina Del Rey. 5.2 miles approx. (start time - 9:30am in Marina Del Rey.) Race starts in the harbor right outside Mother’s Beach, heads outside the breakwater to the first pin and back to Mother’s Beach.

Leashes & PFD's are required for Short & Intermediate Course

INTERMEDIATE COURSE: 8.5 Miles

OC1, OC2, Surfski, Prone, SUP & other vessels

Will start and finish at Mother’s Beach, Marina Del Rey. 8 miles approx. (start time - 9:45am in Marina Del Rey.) Race starts in the harbor right outside Mother’s Beach, heads outside the breakwater to the second pin and back to Mother’s Beach.

Leashes & PFD's are required for Short & Intermediate Course

LONG COURSE: 16 Miles

OC1, OC2, Surfski

Will begin at Malibu Pier (Surfrider Beach) in Malibu. Drop boats off at Malibu Pier before you register. Then proceed to Mother's Beach in Marina Del Rey for registration and a light breakfast.
16 miles (start time - approx. 1:00pm in Malibu.- subject to change) Race starts off Malibu Pier for a fun down swell run back to Mother’s Beach (D basin) in Marina Del Rey!

We will have one shuttle bus to take paddlers to Malibu once you have registered. If you can carpool or provide your own transportation it would be helpful since the bus does fill up quick. SHUTTLE BUS WILL LEAVE FROM MOTHER’S BEACH AT Approx. 11:45AM

Leashes and PFD's are required for Long Course.

Must have 3 in a division to be awardable.
Divisions subject to be combined by craft and gender (regardless of age division) to make division awardable on race day.

If you would like to race both Short/Intermediate & Long Course there is a discounted price of $50.00... 

Online Registration:

Please try and register online to make it easier on us the morning of the event. Check-in/Registration for both long and short courses will be open at 8:00 and close at 10:30.
Short & Intermediate course entries must be check-in/registered by 9:00 am.

There will be check-in/registration in Malibu in the event that you don't want to drive to Marina Del Rey. Registration in Malibu will open 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Parking:

There is a paid parking lot across the street from the Mother's Beach on Palawan Way.

Parking Fee: $6 at both locations

Entry fee:

Entry fee includes - T-shirt (Guaranteed for all paddlers registered & paid online prior to March 22nd), light breakfast, lunch, awards, safety boats and shuttle bus for long course
