Paddle Stroke Perfection Clinic with
the mad Scientist Jim Terrell owner of Quickblade Paddles. Cost $75
Develop
your winning stroke at a very special hands-on workshop presented by
4 time Olympic champion Jim Terrell. Includes Paddle stroke theory -
dry land session featuring full explanation of theory behind
effective paddling. Water session in which Jim Terrell to work with
participants as a group addressing issues with each individual.
Useful technique drills and exercises in group session. Question and
answer.
Limit
15 people. Cost $100. A limited number of 12’6” or 14’ boards
will be available for rent. $25 for the clinic.

SUP Ambassador Mike Simpson's specialty is expedition SUP paddling.
Best known for his epic 2,000+ mile trip up the eastern seaboard from
Key West to Maine, Mike recently completed the journey around Puerto
Rico. SUP Magazine was there to cover the trip (check out the summer
"Gear Guide" issue for the full article on the trip) as was
Facing Waves, the only broadcast paddlesports TV show in the United
States (which airs on NBC Universal Sports and Outside Television).
Join Mike at the Midwest SUP Festival as he tells stories from his
adventures and also provides insight into expedition paddling to help
you get started on your own adventures.

Fitness Foundations and Understanding the Body Mechanics of SUP with
Mona Melms of Studio Melt
Hosted
by Mona Melms RN MS PT, co-owner/founding director of Melt, LLC &
SUP enthusiast. Dedicating five minutes to your own movement
machinery before and after your day of paddling will provide you with
noticeable benefits in your paddling performance. Mona will
demonstrate how a SUP warm-up routine activates the nerves and
muscles involved in paddling and prepares them to go to work as a
well-functioning team of body parts. A post-SUP routine aims at
balancing the effects of repetitive paddling movement to maximize
peak performance.
