Registration:
Register on PaddleGuru only. Crews registered before Friday, June 24 will receive an extra raffle ticket per paddler. All registrations must be received by 9pm on Friday, June 24. No race day registration. Payment accepted on PaddleGuru (additional credit card fee applies) or by cash/check (made out to MHCC) to be submitted on race day.
Registration fee (includes 1 raffle ticket, paddler gear and insurance coverage):
OC-6 - $40 per paddler + $6 PaddleGuru fee ($246 per canoe)
Junior & Youth OC-6 - $20 per paddler + $6 PaddleGuru fee ($126 per canoe)
Small boat/SUP included if racing in another race or $40 per paddler + $4 PaddleGuru fee if this is the only race
Race Day:
Check in at registration table from 8:00-10:00am. Check-in process will include confirming your crew name, confirming receipt of waivers for your crew, providing your boat number, and confirming/receiving payment.
Post Race:
Lunch will be available for purchase from a Portland local food cart, La Quebrada Taqueria. There will be awards ceremony, raffle, and 50/50 draw. UPDATE: For those who travel more than 100 miles to attend our race, you will automatically be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of the three $50 gas cards donated by American Chimney & Masonry.
Insurance:
Insurance is provided by Paddlesport Risk Management, LLC. The race will follow PNWORCA race rules, regulations and safety procedures (https://pnworca.org/race-rules/pnworca-race-rules/). Individuals must complete the Event Waiver in order to enter the race (https://form.jotform.com/Prmwaivers/rooster-rock-oc-race---liability-wa).
Safety:
Six US coast guard approved PFDs, at least one working bailer and a whistle per boat. All boats will be checked for safety equipment prior to racing. Three safety boats will be on the course to assist, but are not responsible for paddlers, boats or equipment. Please make sure your crews are comfortable with huli procedure. All small boat and SUP paddlers must wear a PFD and have a leash.
Parking:
Daily park entrance fee $5 at the gate. Camping at the race site (sites C, D, and E) included in the daily fee on Friday and/or Saturday night.
