SUP Magazine’s Pacific Paddle Games presented by Salt Life will return for its third year at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California, September 30 through October 1, 2017. The weekend is the biggest celebration of paddling in the sport and will feature Technical and Distance races (in both Pro and Open divisions), including Pro Junior and Youth categories, Prone divisions, the largest Demo Zone in the sport, Clinics, a $60,000 prize purse (the largest in the sport), and much more. There’s something for every level of paddler at the Pacific Paddle Games, whether it’s a first-timer getting on the water, a family of paddlers competing in their different age groups or the best racers in the world going toe-to-toe. Everyone is welcome at the PPGs!
There are two divisions for races: Open (age group) and Pro (Elite). Our Open divisions are for athletes who compete at a non-professional level.
PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE ALL 2017 REGISTRATION DEADLINES AS PART OF OUR EFFORT TO ACCOMMODATE ALL #PPG2017 COMPETITORS AND DELIVER THE BEST COMPETITION EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE.
PRO PADDLERS MUST REGISTER BEFORE 9 p.m. ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2017. THERE WILL BE NO RACE-DAY REGISTRATION FOR PRO RACERS!!!
OPEN PADDLERS MUST REGISTER BEFORE 9 PM ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2017. THERE WILL BE NO RACE-DAY REGISTRATION FOR OPEN RACERS!!!
Important Note: One of the goals of #PPG2017 is to reward the best overall standup racers. In the Pro races, for both the Men and Women, the majority of the prize purse will be rewarded to the overall champions, combining their results from both the Technical and Distance races. Each adult Pro race will have bonus prize money, however, the large prize purse goes for the overall win. IF YOU WANT TO COMPETE FOR THE BIGGEST PRIZE PURSE IN PADDLE SPORTS HISTORY, YOU MUST DO BOTH THE TECHNICAL AND DISTANCE RACES.
The 2017 Pacific Paddle Games wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our sponsors and partners. Big thanks to Salt Life, West Marine, Nexen Tire, Croakies, and California State Parks
