Board Drop Off

Board drop-off is from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM. Report to the “Guard Shack” and an event team member in an orange vest will direct you to the board drop-off locations.

Onsite board drop-off locations will be determined in the days leading up to the race as the Newport Shipyard’s site map is constantly changing. For onsite board drop offs, be prepared with protective padding as your board could be stored on concrete or wooden docks. Onsite launching will be from high floating docks, be prepared and ask for assistance from the dock monitors.

Offsite board drop off is located at Storer Park, adjacent to the Newport Shipyard. A standing zone for vehicles is along the Goat Island Bridge where paddle participants can proceed to drop off their board and equipment in the grassy park. Storer Park and Elm Street Pier offer Beach, Dock, and Ramp launching of vessels. Please be mindful that launching in this area requires a short paddle to the start line. Event volunteers will be assigned to watch over this loading zone but are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

PARKING

After you drop off your board you can park either at metered parking on Washington St, or Long Wharf or you can park in the public parking lot or garage, The Gateway Center, 1 W Marlborough St, Newport, RI 02840. Parking Lot/Garage cost- $2 for the first half hour; $1.50 for each additional half hour.
