  • Douglas Park & the Beach, North Cape May (Cape May- Lewes Ferry Grounds)
Course:
  • Athletes will have a beach start paddling parallel to the waters edge, looping around the buoys finishing their 4 mile paddle. Depending on the current, this paddle can be a great challenge.

  • All athlete and spectator parking will be at the Cape May- Lewes Ferry Terminal

WPARules

  • Paddlers must follow the Baymaster/starter’s instructions. Final start instructions for the paddle cape may 5k race will be communicated formally prior to the race start time. 
  • The Baymaster shall be responsible for officiating the event start and finish.
  • Baymaster is the head official for the paddle cape may paddle board event and has the final say in disqualification rulings, finishes and race protest filings.
  • The first heat of  paddle cape may will begin with the 9am designated start.
  • The course is around all buoys as directed by the Baymaster/starter. At no time during the race may a competitor impede another competitor. Unsportsmanlike conduct/actions will result in disqualification. Any competitor failing to round all buoys will be disqualified from the race. Working as a team is what this event is all about.
  • Beach Start & Beach Finish 
  • All safety regulations must be followed including but not limited to wearing a leash and Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device.
