Join the fun for the 15th annual Powerhouse Paddle & Swim to support the Del Mar Life Guard Association. This challenging yet friendly open ocean event features youth and adult swims, a paddle race and Junior Waterman Challenge. All ages and abilities are welcome … bring the family for a morning of fun at Powerhouse Park in Del Mar.

Race Activites:

• One Mile Swim: Open to all ages. Beach start and finish. Age group awards.
• Youth (10 and under) 250 Yard Swim. Beach start and finish. Awards for all participants!
• Youth (12 and under) 500 Yard Swim. Beach start and finish. Age group awards.
• Stand Up Paddle and Prone Race: 2 mile and 4 mile. Open to all ages. Age group awards.
• Junior Waterman Challenge. Paddle, Swim & Run. Bracket style racing. Overall winner awards boys and girls. Open to youth 14 years old and under *paddle boards provided*
• Food & Cheer
• Raffle with lots of prizes including our Grand Raffle Prize: A trip to Tahiti to compete in either the Ironmana in December or a single leg of the Waterman Tahiti Tour 2019!*
• Live Music

*Air Tahiti Nui and KXT are sponsoring a round trip air ticket from Los Angeles to Tahiti to compete in your choice of: the Ironmana (December 3-10) -or- in a single leg of the Waterman Tahiti Tour (WTT)2019. Both events combine prone paddeboarding, stand up paddling, swimming, a combo, and a mystery event. (Winner will be responsible for taxes on your air ticket as well as accommodations.)  This is an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity to race in the most beautiful place in the world with some of the greatest watermen of all time!!! Note: this grand prize raffle is open to everyone, whether you are competing in one of the Powerhouse Paddle races. Raffle tickets may be purchased by clicking the Registration button. Need not be present to win!

Under 19 men and women
20-39  Open men and women
40-59 Masters men and women
60 and up Grand Masters men and women

Junior Waterman Challenge

14 and under boys
14 and under girls

Swim, one mile: USA Swimming and Masters Age Groups

Registration is $50 in advance per event ($70 day of). Includes delicious food and a cool hoodie sweatshirt. Advance registration closes at 5pm on Saturday, September 15. On site/day of registration increases to $70, so please sign up in advance!

The Del Mar Lifeguard Association promotes beach safety awareness and professional lifeguard standards through public education, training programs, exchange programs, competition and other means. Their ultimate goal is to prevent and reduce aquatic injuries, accidents and death at open water beaches in the United States and throughout the world.
