THIS EVENT IS DAY 2 OF OUR PADDLE RACE WEEKEND...LOTS OF PADDLE FUN not to be missed at the 3rd annual RUBBER DUCKIE REGATTA (formerly Whatever It Takes on Gun Lake). This is Shaka SUP Racing’s season finale paddle race on the beautiful, 3000+ acre Gun Lake in Shelbyville, Michigan. This event also wraps up Midwest Paddle League 2020 racing series with the end-of-season trophy ceremony to follow. We are offering a 1 mile course for youth/beginners/intermediates, and for the more experienced/want a challenge we are offering 5k or 10k course, and racing craft categories of SUP, kayak, surfskis, outriggers and prone.
It’s also our honor to continue supporting Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary, the midwest’s largest sheltered no-kill sanctuary for dogs, Lake Odessa, MI as our charity for this event. It was founded by the Azzar family in August of 1999 after the passing of their beloved dog Mackenzie. Go to mackenzies.info for more information.
BUT, if racing and charity isn’t the only reason you come out, there will of of course be an END-OF-SEASON AFTER PARTY to celebrate Community (love MPL's motto - Community 1st, Competition 2nd!)! So come on out for one last paddle, whether your its your first time or competing for those final MPL series points...Rubber Duckie Regatta is a great way to say Aloha summer!
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION WILL BE ALLOWED FOR SAFETY!
No Equipment, No Problem! Gun Lake Rentals are available right next door for SUP and Kayak equipment needs. Please go to their website @gunlakerentals.com to reserve any needed equipment.
