Dear Friends — It's that time again!

Start planning for the next Goat Island Race.

Walk on Water and the Town of Snow Hill Present the 5th Annual Return to Goat Island Paddle Fest Saturday, July 23rd, in Snow Hill, Maryland. 

Walk on Water will be celebrating a milestone 10-year Anniversary this July making a memorable race weekend even BETTER!

So, Join us on Saturday, July 23rd, for a FUN day of racing and hanging out with family and friends as we gather to celebrate the paddling lifestyle and all that it means to us. 

Races are open to paddlers of All levels: 

  • 2-mile Open Race - SUP All - SUP 12'6-14', SUP surfstyle (under 12') and Kayak (under 12')
  • 6-mile Race - SUP 14' (category incl 12'6"), Kayak, surfski, OC1 and prone
  • Dash for Cash Sprint (right after the main races) -SUP 14' (ONLY) 
  • Kids Races on giant inflatables  - kids can register day of the race and must wear USCG approved PFD's


Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be given out for male and female participants in the 6-mile Race (SUP/Kayak/Surfski/OC1/Prone) and the Dash for Cash Sprint. 

***THERE MUST BE 5 ALIKE CRAFTS IN ANY RACE CATEGORY TO RECEIVE AN AWARD***

All Competitors are required to wear and bring leashes and PFD's

Enjoy Music and food from Riverside BBQ & Burnish Beer, Look Pretty Play Dirty Petting Zoo, Face Paintings, and more vendors -- Plus E-BIKE DEMOS!


MORE ABOUT THE RACE

On Saturday races will consist of a short distance kids race, a 2-mile OPEN race, and a 6-mile flar-water race for intermediate to advanced paddlers. Those looking for more of a CHALLENGE after the main races can take part in a short distance "Dash for Cash" Sprint Race!  **All registered sprinters will be eligible for CASH, prizes and bragging rights for the title of: FASTEST PADDLER ON THE POCOMOKE **

There will be a party-like atmosphere for those not wanting to paddle but still wanting to enjoy a great time outside! Music, food, petting zoo and face painting for the kids plus new vendors and E-Bike demos ! There are two Campgrounds are located in close proximity to the race area: Shad Landing and Milburn Landing (more details below). 

It's going to be a fun-filled weekend of outdoor activities and celebrating on the beautiful shores of the Pocomoke River.

Byrd Park is the largest of the three town parks in Snow Hill and located on the Pocomoke River at 304 West Market Street.
