IMPORTANT:  **NEW LOCATION**  WE ARE MOVING THE RACE TO STURGIS PARK DUE TO HEAVY RAIN FALL AND FLOODING AT BYRD PARK.

And now without further hesitation . . .

Together, Walk on Water and the Town of Snow Hill, present the 6th Annual Return to Goat Island Paddle Sports Festival on Saturday, June 24th at Sturgis Park.  It will be a FUN day of paddle racing both short and long courses, kids races on giant inflatables and the 'Dash for Cash' sprints are back! We've added a petting zoo, kids face painting station and corn hole tourney and GOAT YOGA (from 11am-12pm)  ... making a memorable race weekend even better! 

For those not wanting to paddle but still wanting to enjoy a great time outside, there will be a party-like atmosphere to enjoy live music, food and libations plus a ton of outdoor activities for the whole family.  

Raffle tickets will also be available for a new paddle board AND surfboard - Thanks Evolve Boards!  

You can purchase raffle tickets when you register for the races online and also at the registration table (day of).

ALL COMPETITORS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR OWN LEASHES AND PFD's

GRAB EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DISCOUNTS WHILE YOU CAN ** NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS PLEASE! 

ALL KIDS RACE ON GIANT INFLATABLE BOARDS (provided by Walk on Water) 

ALL RACE COMPETITORS SHOULD BRING THEIR OWN WATER or WATER BOTTLES

THERE MUST BE 5 ALIKE CRAFTS IN ANY RACE CATEGORY TO RECEIVE AN AWARD

WHERE IS THE NEW LAUNCH?

Sturgis Park - 300 River St. Snow Hill, Maryland

There is a main gazebo in front of the floating dock launch area. PLEASE ASK FOR ASSISTANCE IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE LAUNCHING FROM A DOCK.  There is parking all around the park with an addition parking lot behind the post office that can be reached from Green Street. Sturgis has Bathrooms, a main gazebo, a small park garden and stairs leading to a floating dock with direct access to the water.

RACE COURSE DETAILS: 

Races will consist of a 2-mile OPEN race, a 6-mile flat water race for intermediate to advanced paddlers and a short distance Kids race on giant inflatables. 

Those looking for more of a CHALLENGE can take part in the "Dash for Cash" sprints (after the main events).  

All registered racers (6-mile, Sprints and Kids) will be eligible for cash and/or prizes Plus bragging rights for the title of the fastest paddler on the Pocomoke.

Races are open to paddlers of all levels.  

• 2-mile Open Race - SUP All - SUP 12'6-14', SUP surfstyle (under 12') and Kayak (under 12')
• 6-mile Race - SUP 14' (category incl 12'6"), Kayak, surfski, OC1 and prone
• Dash for Cash Sprint (right after the main races) -SUP 14' (ONLY) 
• Kids Races on giant inflatables  - kids can register day of the race and must wear USCG approved PFD's

ARE THERE AWARDS? 

Heck Yes!

Goat is KNOWN for having some of the BEST race swag and raffle give aways on the East Coast! 

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be given out for male and female participants in the 6-mile Race (SUP/Kayak/Surfski/OC1/Prone) and for the 'Dash for Cash' Winner Takes All sprints.

You bet there is!  

There are two awesome campgrounds, Shad Landing & Milburn Landing, located in close proximity to the race area that offer great camping rental sites and accommodations.

The site will prompt you to select camp site (near Water's Edge or "not") directly on the map itself BEFORE allowing you to make a reservation. **WATER"S EDGE** is located near water, restrooms and the camp store.
