The BayCreek Cup Race is on again with an updated name…  The Rochester Cup at BayCreek!

This paddling race will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Hosted by John Hair and assisted by Ken and the BayCreek staff, this 5-mile (SUP) and 8-mile (canoe/kayak) race will be held on Irondequoit Bay in Rochester NY. While typically a flat-water course, the bay can get a little lumpy depending on wind and boat-wake conditions.

Race-day registrations will be OK, although we prefer signups ahead of time to prepare for parking/dock space/etc. Bragging rights are up for grabs in all the categories you might want to create in your head…  singles, doubles, triples, young, old, female, male, etc. But, only two awards are planned, the perpetual trophies for overall canoe/kayak,  and overall standup paddler.  So bring your fastest boat and paddle hard! We will tabulate and publish the results.

Music – We have a band!  Kona Jack is rounding up the Pineapple Pickers to keep us entertained with songs of the sea, tropical island culture, and maybe some rowdy pub numbers.

Food and drink – potluck style! Bring a dish (and/or drinks) to pass… We will gather afterwards to grill some hot dogs, black-bean burgers, or whatever you decide to bring. 😊 Look for a sign-up list by Google sheet.

 Paddlers will meet at BayCreek Paddling Center, located on Empire Blvd in Rochester, New York.
