San Carlos Paddle Battle 2016

San Carlos Paddle Battle and Beach Party!  May 7th & 8th, 2016

This is an international race, for Standup Paddleboards and Kayaks bringing participants from the US, Canada and Mexico to the beaches of San Carlos, Sonora Mexico.

Featuring a multi-category Race Class and Open Class, if you can paddle it you can race it! Two courses available, 1 mile Short course and 5 mile Long course. In addition there will be SUP Sprint races, SUP Tug-O-War, Team relays, Volleyball Tournament and FLYBOARDING!

No paddleboard, no kayak.... No problem! We have rentals available at the race thanks to Enrike Adventure Tours. Call or email to make a reservation.

Note: All live times are unadjusted and unofficial.

Two race courses available.

The Short Course is a 2 mile (1.6km) loop around Isla San Luis, to the north side of the beach, around a buoy and back to the start.  Beach start and finish on Kite Beach, Playa Algodones.

The Long Course is a 2.8 mile (4.5km) loop past Isla San Luis and clockwise around the second island Isla El Venado, then back to the starting point, where a buoy will be located for a second lap.  Long Race consists of 2 laps on the Long Course.

San Carlos is located 250 miles south of the AZ, USA boarder, located in the "Hassle Free" zone of Sonora, no special pass is needed on your car.  The drive is easy, safe, and frequented by tourist coming from USA and Canada.  Highway 15 has recently been refinished and makes for a safe and pleasant drive.  You can even stop and get a free 7 day visitor's visa, truely a hassle free way of visiting this beautiful community.
