San Carlos is located 250 miles south of the AZ, USA boarder, located in the "Hassle Free" zone of Sonora, no special pass is needed on your car. The drive is easy, safe, and frequented by tourist coming from USA and Canada. Highway 15 has recently been refinished and makes for a safe and pleasant drive. You can even stop and get a free 7 day visitor's visa, truely a hassle free way of visiting this beautiful community.
