ALOHA PADDLE LKN presents Carolina Hellbenders 1^st Annual Super Chill Paddle ‘n Plunge 2024

Calling all ICE KINGS and ICE QUEENS. Join us for a Super Chill Saturday before Super Bowl Sunday: Polar Plunge for a Purpose benefiting the CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION.

Get ready to make waves and paddle your way to glory at the most chilling aquatic extravaganza of the year! On February 10, 2024, Lake Norman will come alive with the splash-tastic event of paddleboard, kayak, and OC1 racing.

DIVISONS:

Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP):

SUP enthusiasts, get ready to show off your style and speed as you navigate a beautiful course on Lake Norman with a polar plunge finish.

 Kayaking:

Meet precision in the kayak challenge before you plunge.  Whether you are a seasoned paddler or a first timer, this race promises excitement and fun for all skill levels.  Race yourself for adventure and the cheers of the crowd urging you to victory!

OC1 and OC2:

The sleek outrigger canoe (OC1) race is not for the faint of heart! Paddle in perfect sync with the rhythm of the water and propel yourself to victory. It's not just a race; it's a paddling symphony with a plunge to follow.

Polar Plunge:

If you are not a paddler and want to participate in the Plunge for a Purpose, we are offering this plunge only event. Come make waves with us as we make a difference in the lives of others. Community is Unity.

BEACH FINISH FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS.  

PLUNGE NOT REQUIRED!! 

ALL THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO PLUNGE WILL HAVE 10 SECONDS TAKEN OFF OF THEIR TIME.

PRIZES:

The top 3 winners per craft/age division in the Super Chill 8.5 Mile, Frosty 5 Mile and the Polar Express 2 Mile will receive awards.   The overall male and female for each board craft/type will be crowned Ice King and ICE QUEEN 2024 Champions, but remember, the true reward is the exhilaration of conquering the conditions, respecting your fellow paddlers, having a blast and knowing that your participation is for a purpose.

The First to finish the Snowflake Sprint will be crowned either Stud Puffin or Empress Penguin

All participants will receive a participation medal.

Prize for the best dressed.

A Word on Safety:

We are taking every precaution possible to assure the absolute safety of each and every paddler regardless of age and experience. PFD's and leashes will be required, and we will have support boats nearby at all times. 

We ask that each paddler exercise common sense and caution while participating in this event.
