TAHOE WATERMAN JAM
The Paddle Jam is guaranteed to be fast off the line on Lake Tahoe as competitors navigate one lap or two lap triangle paddle course. Registration includes a healthy celebration meal and pre-registration closes Friday, July 23 at 3 pm. Race day registration is available for an additional fee and race meal may not be available for last-minute entry.
The Paddle Jam is the first race in the 2021 Tahoe Waterman Paddle Race Series. The Paddle Jam takes place on the pristine waters of Lake Tahoe within Tahoe's Carnelian Bay surrounded by gorgeous peaks, Tahoe is a majestic playground for paddlers, a freshwater mecca in California.
LOCATION
Race location and the race start at Watermans Landing, Carnelian Bay, CA.
FORMAT
There are three races available: a 4 miles single lap, an 8 miles double lap, and the Grom race.
Grom (1-mile - 1.6 km): The under-12 race is a 1-mile loop starting and ending at Watermans Landing.
One-Lap (4 mile - 6.5 km): The race format includes one 4-mile, triangle, buoy-marked lap on the lake running counterclockwise. Racers start in the water on their craft and finish on the water between the finish buoys.
Two-Laps (8 mile - 13 km): The race format includes two 4-mile, triangle, buoy-marked laps running counterclockwise. Racers start in the water on their craft and finish on the water between finish buoys.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL AND CRAFT TYPES
The Paddle Jam is suitable for all levels of paddlers and paddle craft, including outriggers (OC1, OC2, and OC6), surf ski (1 and 2-person), stand-up paddleboard (SUP), and prone paddleboards. Team outrigger racing (OC6) will find the Two-Lap format an excellent chance to set a PR over 8 miles on a fast and technical course.
SPECIAL SAFETY NOTE
Lake Tahoe is an Alpine Lake at 6200 feet of elevation and we suggest practicing smart mountain safety. Plan to check weather conditions for race day temperature and winds. Plan to dress appropriately.

There is ample free parking at the event site along the streets of Carnelian Bay.

AWARDS
All categories will be awarded and the following rules will be applied: For each category, if 5 or more participants in the respective category, the top 3 will be awarded a prize. If 4 or fewer participants in the respected category, only the winner will be awarded a prize.
ABOUT US
The Paddle Jam is presented by Tahoe Waterman - a paddling community that comes together to celebrate a true love for paddle sports, health, and adventures. They inspire one another, cheer each other on, and at the end of the day, they tell stories and shared race experiences.
WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW
For safety reasons, we limit this race to 120 paddle craft 50 paddle craft on the water for the Tahoe Paddle Jam and COVID measure will be emailed to you upon registration if necessary. Register early as there is a good chance this race will sell out. Additional entry may be added to reach our 120 limits depending on the COVID measure at the time.
REFUND
With the exception of wait-list transfers, entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. If we do not have paddlers on the waiting list willing to accept a race entry, then, unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a refund. In the event the race is canceled due to extreme weather, fire, or some other unforeseeable event outside of our control, WE CANNOT OFFER REFUNDS.
