Join us for the FINAL of three V1-only races! This series was created to give a dedicated race to V1 and get all paddlers on the same craft. 

There will be a JUNIOR (19 an under),  OPEN (20 - 39) and MASTERS (anyone 40+) division for both men and women. 

The series will reflect a point series and at the end of the series - awards will be given out at the final race!

Race #1 - February 4, 2023 - Medium Distance and sprint - 9 mile race + 500m Sprint

Race #2 - March 11, 2023 - Long Distance - 14 miles

Race #3 - April 29, 2023 - Marathon Distance - 21 miles 

Race #3 Travel Logistics: 

Paddlers are in charge of getting themselves and their canoes to Long Beach. Feel free to organize and carpool amongst yourself. 

Paddlers can be dropped off at Mothers Beach with the race starting outside the harbor. 

Race #3 Scoring: 

You will receive a score for the 21-mile race

The 21-mile race will be scored with the same scoring table as the series points (25 pts for first, etc.) 

You may select your jersey size and purchase your jersey to race in at an additional cost. It's the same jersey throughout the entire series, so you will only need to purchase one. 

Full Series Scoring Details:
Points below are awarded per event for place finished (by division if 4 or more participants)  Totaled at end of the season.  The worst result will be dropped for each racer (to help if you want to choose to skip a race and still compete in the whole series, etc.).  
In the case of a points tie, the times are totaled and the winner is the fastest time.
1st -   25pts

2nd - 18pts

3rd -  15 pts

4th -  12 pts

5th -  10 pts

6th -   8 pts

7th  -  6 pts

8th -   4 pts

9th -   2 pts

10th - 1 pts

Places below 10th ranked by time totals.  Seasonal rankings will be updated on google doc sent to racers.

Open division Top 3 get colored jerseys for next season (1st yellow, 2nd red, 3rd green).  Veteran divisions, top finisher per age group gets altered yellow jersey for next season.

You do not need to be present to win, but the winner will be responsible for any transport, shipping or surcharges on this canoe. This canoe is located in Orange County, CA..

For online ticket sales, we will enter your name into the drawing for you, once your ticket(s) are purchased. The number of times your name is put into the raffle will be equal to the number of tickets you purchase. For in-person ticket sales on race day, you will purchase the tickets, write your name on them and enter them yourself.
