Virginia Commonwealth Games and Tula Paddle Sports are bringing back to you the Virginia Commonwealth Games Paddle Race!
Racers have several distance options to sign up for listed below:
The 9-mile and 4.5-Mile distance races will circumnavigate around Broad Bay Island. This area has several challenging features, such as tidal currents, narrow channels, boat traffic, and oyster reefs, and is only open to experienced advanced paddlers. During this race, paddlers have the choice to navigate the island clockwise OR counterclockwise, so studying the area and paddling the route before the race is highly recommended.

The shorter 2-mile race will be held on Long Creek. This is an up-and-back paddle race along typically calm waters with challenges of tidal current, occasional slow boat traffic and oyster reefs.

***Parking is limited. Its recommended you carpool if possible and arrive early. Drop your boards/boats off at Tula, then park your vehicle in the main parking lot in front of Surf Rider Restaurant.
