The

Little Rascals River Run is part of the Come Down to the River,

a whole day of fun for the entire family with games, paddlesports races, food,

and more. The 2nd annual race is presented by Henderson Kentucky’s  Depot

Community Room and River Heritage Day Committee. The Little Rascals River Run

is the 8th race in the Kentucky Waterman

Series
and is the 2017 host for the

Explore Kentucky
Initiative’s Western Kentucky Battle For The Paddle .

Western

Kentucky Battle For the Paddle
(12 miles)





Paddlers

will blast off from Inland Marina in Evansville, Indiana (
 Waterworks Road, Evansville, IN 47711) at 9 a.m. (CDT)

beside the historical World War II LST 325 ship, challenge the swift current of

the Ohio River, and finish the race 12 miles downstream at the Third Street

(northern) boat dock on Henderson, Kentucky’s beautiful riverfront. As the host

race for EKI’s Battle for The Paddle Cup Race, the top overall finisher male

and female will have their named engraved on a special trophy.












Short Race - Adults & Youth (4

Mile): This race begins at the Henderson, Kentucky riverfront ( 300 North Water Street, Henderson, Kentucky) at 12:30

p.m., pushing against the current upstream to Hay’s Boat Ramp, and then turning

to sprint downstream to the finish line.

This

is a division for casual paddlers who just want to enjoy the ride down the

mighty Ohio.


(Paddlers under 18 must have legal guardian sign waivers for them. Paddlers 10-15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.)


These

events are part of River Heritage Day’s Seventh Annual “Come Down to the River”

held at the Henderson riverfront and in adjacent Audubon Mill Park.

Family-friendly events include a free Kids’ Fishing Tournament, a free

Ken-DUCK-y Derby, and a park filled with activities including wildlife, inflatables, storytellers, casting lessons, electronic hunting games, Dream Car

Museum and other exhibits as well as a corn hole tournament. All proceeds from

the events go to Children’s Advocacy Center Green River District, a non-profit

agency that provides medical, psychological, and legal support to abused

children in seven counties of Western Kentucky.















All Racers will receive:

    Can Eat Dinner at OnDeck Riverside Bar & Grill (catfish fillets,

    smoked chicken jambalaya and all the fixins’) 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

A free shuttle is provided for

A secure site on the Henderson

riverfront will be available





for paddle craft from 10 a.m. – 5

p.m.

racers/teams in each class to qualify for awards.





Presentation of race awards will be in Audubon Mill Park at

3:00 p.m.





DINNER ON THE RIVERFRONT will be held at On Deck Riverside Bar and

Grill from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. You can dine in the open air at OnDeck where a cash

bar is available, or eat in beautiful Audubon Mill Park.
