Please Arrive Early - Course direction will be determined the day before the race depending on the wind forecast. We will send an email to all paddlers on Friday with the course direction. This is subject to change the morning of the paddle
All paddlers must be on their boards for announcements regarding course direction, safety and any other last minute changes.
This grueling 22.5-mile race is not for the faint of heart and is a WPA sanctioned competition. Please be sure you have the proper experience level to attempt this paddle. Support boats will be traveling with paddlers. If you cannot finish the race you must exit on a support boat - due to safety risks please do not exit the race via land. Failure to comply with these rules will result in exclusion from the after party and future events.

Memorial Paddle Out Ceremony
All paddlers must be on their boards for announcements regarding course direction.
8-mile race, 8-mile fun paddle and 4-mile fun paddle: These paddles are mainly social in nature. Get together with a group of friends or come make some new ones. Paddlers will make their way to the Wonder Bar in Atlantic City where they can hop a ride back or paddle the full return trip. There will be a jitney and board transportation provided for four-mile paddlers at the Wonder bar. You will be required to give your name and number to the volunteer at the Wonder bar. We will check you in as off the course. Do not paddle back once you have checked in if you are registered for the four-mile paddle, you must take the jitney back to the Golden Nugget.
Please review the attached WPA rulebook. These are the rules sanctioned by the World Paddle Association and must be adhered to.

Mens Open Prone
Mens 14' and under SUP

Surf Ski Single
This year we will be awarding trophies to the top three overall Surf Ski competitors, this is a break from our past tradition and prize money of $250, $150, $100 will be offered for first, second and third place finishers.
Outrigger Canoe OC-1
This year we will be awarding trophies to the top three overall OC-1 competitors, this is also a new addition for 2019 and prize money of $250, $150, $100 will be offered for first, second and third place finishers, respectively.
8-mile Race
This year we will be awarding trophies to the top three overall 8-mile race finishers. No prize money will be offered, but bragging rights will be awarded for one calendar year.
Open Division
Kayaks, Lifeguard boats and anything else you can paddle. Trophies will be awarded to open paddlers depending on the number of registrations received in the open category.
Please allow the faster racers to start first. Anyone in the open division not on an SUP or prone must start behind the racers. Thank you for your understanding.
