2017 Moon River Race to Benefit the Ogeechee Riverkeeper


Welcome to the 2017 Moon River Race to Benefit Ogeechee Riverkeeper!  Thank you for helping to support our local waterways.  We work to protect, preserve, and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River Basin.  Join us for a great Kayak/SUP race in Savannah!

Race Details:
The 4-mile Moon River Race will be out and back race from Butterbean Beach through the Branches, and under the Moon River Bridge. We also have a 1-mile Butterbean Beach fun race for those wanting to try out kayak and SUP racing. Each racer will receive a cotton race t-shirt as part of their registration.

Moon River Race:
  • Top three female kayak finishers
  • Top three male kayak finishers
  • Top three female SUP finishers
  • Top three male SUP finishers
  • Top finisher in each age group
Butterbean Beach Race:
  • Top three female finishers
  • Top three male finishers
Special Award:
  • The best-dressed racer from either race will receive a gift certificate to vintage clothing store House of Strut.

Whole Foods Savannah (1815 E Victory Dr #101, Savannah, GA 31404) has invited racers to a post-party in their Parlor, located in the left rear corner of the store. A build-your-own sandwich bar will be available, along with other goodies!

The race course is a 4 mile out and back from Butterbean beach, through the Branches, under the Moon River Bridge, and then a turnaround after a small hammock on the left.
