Alameda Islander 5K race starts in the Ballena Lagoon . We will gather around a black buoy.

The race course is counter-clock wise around Ballena Isles: turn right to go through the small channel, go under the bridge, turn left to go around Ballena Isles and turn left to enter the marina, turn right to head for the same black buoy (race start) and take a left turn around the buoy to start the second lap. After the second lap, look for a large Red Buoy for race finish near the entrance of the Marina.

Hazards:

• Please stay out of the marina channels as much as you can.
• Please do not impeded boat traffic around Ballena Isles.
• Watch out for the submerged pipe near the entrance of the marina: there are white/orange buoys marking the submerge pipe. Please go around the buoys, do not go between them.
