The 7th annual Battle of the Bay race will be held May 15, 2021. Hosted byTim Dwyer, this approximately 5-6 mile race on Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay is held within the bay in semi-protected water. Although primarily for surfskis, outrigger canoes, open water rowing shells and SUPs are also welcome to participate.
There is no registration fee, but you must register online before the race.No formal awards will be given but this race is part of the SurfskiRacing.compoint series.
Here's alink to the course map from a previous year. The course may change depending on conditions. NOTICE: paddlers will meet at a new venue on the southernmost tip of Goat Island in Newport, RI. Once onto Goat Island travel south and enter the security gate. Travel to the southernmost tip of the Island till you can't drive anymore. Drop your boat and drive back a hundred yards and find a parking spot up by one of the brick condominiums. Provide your email for important updates.

Bring lunch for hanging out afterwards at the Gazebo for the phenomenal views of Newport harbor and the bay.
