Sat, Sept 25th - Clinic Schedule: 

Outrigger Canoe Clinic with Team USA Champion Athlete Pam Boteler

Students will learn:
  • Reach new levels with your performance by applying the philosophy of feeling and connection to the water and conditions. 

  • Become a smarter paddler by understanding difference between “paddling hard” vs knowing when, where, and how to paddle softer and slower to go faster. 

  • Nurture a positive mindset by learning the benefits of balancing paddling training programs with boat play.  

  • Paddlers should bring their canoes for water skills coaching, and have all equipment set up prior to class.
 
Morning and afternoon time slots to choose from:
9:00am-10:30a,
1:00pm-2:30pm
 
Cost: $130 per clinic. The OC clinic package includes the Sports Performance Workshop (see below).


Sports Performance Workshop with Team USA Champion Athlete Pam Boteler

You are Human First, Athlete Second. A Holistic Approach to High Performance
Athletes and coaches of all ages, levels, and athletic pursuits will benefit greatly from this workshop, which will:
  • Learn how to train like Olympic and Paralympic athletes using the proven model of the True Athlete Project
  • Challenge students to make the connection between who you are, why you do your sport, and what that means for training and competition
  • Learn science-based practices for daily self-care – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual
 
Time: 11am -12pm

SUP Clinics with Champion Pro Racer Kim Barnes

SUP Race Clinic - Improving Stroke Efficiency for Speed & Endurance
All levels welcome. Students will learn:
  • Foundational elements to the stroke for efficiency and fluid speed
  • Core activation during the stroke
  • How to improve upper body rotation
  • Hip drive and how to optimize timing to increase your cadence during the stroke
Board is not included. Please have your board and gear ready before the clinic starts.
Time: 9:00am-10:30am
Cost: $105

SUP Race Clinic - Advancing your racing performance
Students will learn:
  • Board maneuvering and foot steering
  • Turning buoys with precision and confidence
  • Beach race start fundamentals
  • Navigation strategies for choppy water, eddies and current lines
  • Drafting
Board is not included. Please have your board and gear ready before clinic starts.
TIme: 11:30am-12:30pm

Coach Bios

Outrigger | Sports Performance 

Pam Boteler is President of WomenCAN International, a leading global voice in the fight for inclusion of and equality for women in Olympic Canoeing since 2000. 

Women’s Canoe events made their Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020(2021), equal to the men, who have had Olympic events since 1936. She made USA Canoe/Kayak history at the 2000 U.S. National Sprint Canoe/Kayak Championships by becoming the first woman to compete in sprint (or high kneel) canoe – against the men - winning gold and bronze medals in the Intermediate class. Pam competed internationally for TeamUSA in Sprint Canoe 2001-2010, earning 11 international medals and was a 35-time National Champion. 

Pam has been a strategic advisor and Athlete Mentor Liaison for The True Athlete Project (TAP), since 2014. TAP a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based out of Chattanooga, TN and the United Kingdom. TAP is focused on leveraging sport as a powerful tool for self-mastery, mental/emotional health and well-being, and for positive social impact: i.e., transforming the world, one True Athlete at a time.
