Pam Boteler is President of WomenCAN International, a leading global voice in the fight for inclusion of and equality for women in Olympic Canoeing since 2000.
Women’s Canoe events made their Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020(2021), equal to the men, who have had Olympic events since 1936. She made USA Canoe/Kayak history at the 2000 U.S. National Sprint Canoe/Kayak Championships by becoming the first woman to compete in sprint (or high kneel) canoe – against the men - winning gold and bronze medals in the Intermediate class. Pam competed internationally for TeamUSA in Sprint Canoe 2001-2010, earning 11 international medals and was a 35-time National Champion.
Pam has been a strategic advisor and Athlete Mentor Liaison for The True Athlete Project (TAP), since 2014. TAP a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based out of Chattanooga, TN and the United Kingdom. TAP is focused on leveraging sport as a powerful tool for self-mastery, mental/emotional health and well-being, and for positive social impact: i.e., transforming the world, one True Athlete at a time.
