Updates underway for 2022!  Information from the 2021 event are below:

Route Grizzly:  This is a 6 mile long-haul race from the U.S. 70 Bridge in New Bern, up the Trent River to a halfway turn-around point and back.

- Check-in Time: 7:00AM - 8:30AM

- Race Brief: 8:45 AM

- Race Begins: 9:30 AM

- Early Registration Cost: $35   

- Day-Of Registration Cost: $50

- T-Shirt included with Registration Cost

Route Black Bear:  This race will be a 2 mile sprint from the U.S. 70 Bridge in New Bern, up the Trent River to a halfway turn-around point and back.

The Lazy Bear (Fun Paddle).  Don't want to race?  Just want to get on the water and watch the races?  No problem!  Sign up for The Lazy Bear and support NMDSO by just exploring the waterways around New Bern.

- Check-In Time: 7:00AM - 10:00AM

- Return to Shore Time: No later than 11:30AM

- Cost:  Free

- T-Shirts will be available for $20 the day of the race.  Please email us the total number of t-shirts and sizes requested upon registering at beartownpaddlebattles@gmail.com.

Race Divisions 

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place awards will be handed out within each division (SUP, Kayak, Surfski) for:

Junior (Boys 15-17)

Junior (Girls 15-17)

Adult (Male 18-55)

Adult (Female 18-55)

Senior (Male, Over 55)

Senior (Female, Over 55)

Grand Champions will be announced for the 6 mile race.  These awards will be given to the competitors, regardless of age or gender, with the best overall times for surfski, kayak, and SUP.
