Kate Lewis is an ACA SUP Instructor and owner of Stand Up
Outfitters in New Bern, NC. As an elite SUP racer, Kate has trained
with top pros, competed in the Graveyard at the Carolina Cup, and is a Kialoa
paddles and SIC Maui Ambassador.

Jarrod Covington is the two-time
winner of the Crystal Kai SUP Cup (2015-2016). Jarrod is originally from
Beaufort, NC and now lives in Wrightsville Beach where he is the founder,
owner, and director of Wrightsville SUP. He is also a youth ambassador, SUP
coach for the Wrightsville Beach Junior Elite Team, a founding member of
the Wrightsville Beach Outrigger Canoe Club (WBOCC), and competes on the WBOCC A team
6-man outrigger. Jarrod is WPA and ACA certified, and a PaddleFit Pro Coach.
Clinic: Paddling Mechanics
When: Friday, May 19, 1230 - 2 PM

Clinic Description:
This 1.5 hour Stand Up Paddle clinic will take one hour to cover proper technique, and the biomechanics of paddling and then a half hour to video and analyze each paddler's stroke. Paddlers can expect to learn proper body position and which muscle groups to engage for each phase of the paddle stroke, which helps avoid injury and increase efficiency.
April Zilg lives in Wrightsville Beach, NC. She is currently ranked 10th in the world of all female SUP athletes. April finished in fourth place in the grueling 2017 Carolina Cup 13.2-mile Graveyard Race (one of the most challenging professional-division courses in the world), her best career finish in the race. April is a nationally-recognized SUP athlete and Hobie Team Rider, competing in both SUP Racing and SUP Surfing. April is a WPA-certified SUP instructor, an ACA-certified “L2 Essentials of SUP” instructor, and a SUP yoga instructor, and passes along her knowledge and love for SUPing through her teachings.
