UPDATE 3/3: The deadline to register has passed and we are now compiling and arranging the race grid for the regatta. In some instances, we will have limited ability to insert additional paddlers who wish to participate but missed the registration deadline, without having to majorly re-do the race grid. Therefore, if you would still like to register, email James Dunbar at dunbar.james.jd@gmail.com and ask nicely if there is still room to participate.

Welcome to the 2nd Annual DC Pergamental indoor paddling regatta! This event is hosted by the National Capital Area Women’s Paddling Association (NCAWPA).

IMPORTANT: Please read this tab and all other tabs carefully!

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: March 2

Racers this year have a variety of sprint and distance races to choose from. For one flat entry fee, racers may register for up to TWO individual events and ONE tandem pair event.

• 200 meter - individual - best of 2 rounds
• 500 meter - individual
• 1000 meter - tandem pair
• 5000 meter - individual

We also have the following highlights from the rules and general logistics: 

• Races will be conducted OC / Marathon style — paddlers may switch sides whenever they want
• The 200 meter is a “best of two rounds” format — paddlers will race twice, and their best time will be counted towards rankings. 
• When racing as a pair, the speed of the “boat” is the average speed of the two paddlers. Thus, if one paddler has a 2:45 / 500m split time and the other has a 2:15 / 500m split time, then the “boat” will move at a 2:30 / 500m split.

Race Fee and Payment: Paddlers in the youth division race for free! For everyone else, registration is a flat fee of $30, regardless of how many races you enter. Once you have registered, you will be provided with payment instructions via your confirmation email.
