2016 OCEAN FEST paddle race course EAST BEACH: Length is 5K = 1.5 laps for the SUP and 2 laps for KAYAK races. FUN 1K SUP race will be a shorter 1 lap course. Courses are subject to change due to weather & water conditions. Galveston Beach Patrol will have FULL AUTHORITY to make final changes on race day. This fun course is designed to challenge both beginner and seasoned paddlers. SUP Races will be a beach start and beach finish. Kayak race will be a water start and water finish. The entire course is visible to spectators all along beach. Water safety teams will be in the water at all times. Competitors are *REQUIRED* to WEAR PFD's (personal floatation device / life jacket) during the race and BOARD LEASHES are *REQUIRED* for SUP competitors.
