This race was formerly held in August when all the big guns would travel to the USAC Championships up north leaving...the Mere Mortals home to race.

  Come join the Florida Competition Paddlers Association for a great race on two rivers, the Withlacoochee and the Suwannee. We will have 3 distances - 3, 6, and 12 miles. The event is open to all paddlecraft including Canoes, SUPs, Kayaks, Surfskis, and OC-1, -2, -6s. We will go upriver on the Suwannee River, return to the start and then go upriver on the Withlacoochee and then return to the start. 12 mile racers will repeat the course twice.

  Race sign-in will start at 9 and the race at 10. Once everyone is back, we will have a cook-out lunch at Campsite Pavillion. Burgers and dogs will be provided. Bring a side and your favorite libation.

  For the adventurous at heart, camping is available at the State Park. We will be staying at Cabin No. 3 for the weekend beginning Friday night. Please stop by and say, "Hello!"

This year's race will also be a fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. MS affects millions of people each year, impacting their ability to move and live normal lives. Funds raised from this event will go towards disease-ending research and support for individuals and their loved ones affected by the disease. There are three levels of support for this race: Brave, Warrior, and Chieftain.

Brave: This $25.00 donation is included the basic registration.

Warrior: For an additional $25.00, all Warriors will be given a preferential start position; leading the fleet out with a one minute head start.

Chieftain: For an additional $50 donation, all Chieftains will be given a premier start position on the race; leading the fleet out with a two minute head start.
