The North Guana Outpost Spring PaddleFest welcomes racers, families, friends and spectators alike to the race competition.  The competition consists of the following events:

3-mile SUP, out and back, short course with a water start:

This competition has three age divisions (17 and under, 18-49 and 50+) for women and men.  There will be awards for the top three women and men finishers in each event division.  This division is limited to SUP boards 14’ and under.

6-mile SUP, two loop, long course with a water start:

This is an open age division race for women and men.  The 6-mile race will be two loops (three miles each).  This race event will have a staggered co-start with the 8-mile race.  The 8-mile event will start 5 minutes before the 6-mile SUP event.  CASH prizes awarded to the top three women and men finishers.  This division is limited to SUP boards 14’ and under.

1^st Place (women/men) - $300, 2^nd Place (w/m) - $200, 3^rd Place (w/m) - $100

8-mile Water Craft (including, but not limited to: Surfski, OC-1, K1 and C1), is an out and back, long course with a water start:

This is an open age division/open water craft  race for an individual woman or man paddler.  The 8-mile event will  have a staggered start with the 6-mile SUP event.  The 8-mile event will start first followed by the 6-mile SUP event.  Cash prizes will be awarded to top three women and men finishers of this 8-mile combined vessel race event.

1^st Place (women/men) - $300, 2^nd Place (w/m) - $200, 3^rd Place (w/m) - $100

1-mile Kids SUP, out and back, short course with a water start:

This FREE fun race is for girls and boys 12 years old and under.  There will be awards for the top three girl and boy finishers.  This division is limited to SUP boards 12’6” and under.  ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THIS EVENT ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A PFD.  This event is On-Site Registration Only and they have until 11:30 am of race day to sign-up.

Rules:

• Racers may only enter one race event.
• All race events are for a single competitor.
• Drafting is allowed with same sex competitors.
• SUP boards in the 3-mile and 6-mile events are limited to 14’ in length.
• SUP boards in the Kids 1-mile event are limited to 12’6” in length.
• The FWC requires all racers to have a PFD.  Additionally, any racer 13 years old and under must wear a PFD. 
• All racers 18 years of age and younger must have a parent or guardian sign a Waiver & Release of Liability to compete.  This is a GTM Reserve regulation.
• All racers must attend their event pre-race meeting.

Entry Fees:

All racers can enter online with Paddle Guru (www.paddleguru.com) until 10:00 pm US-EST, Friday, May 10, 2019.  After that, you have until 8:30 am (of race day) to register on-site.

1-mile Kids SUP Event:  This is a FREE event for kids 12 and under.  Kids still need to register and have a parent or guardian sign a Waiver & Release of Liability to compete.  They are required to wear a PFD while competing.  This is an On-Site Registration Only and they have until 11:30 am of race day to sign-up.

3-mile SUP, 6-mile SUP and 8-mile Water Craft (Surfski, OC-1, K1, C1, etc.) events:  These events are $50 per racer if you pre-register on Paddle Guru.  On-site registration is $60 per racer.

Good to Know:

For your convenience there will be a food truck on-site and North Guana Outpost will have an on-site retail tent offering race day supplies.  There is a restroom building at the site and a washdown station near the food truck location.  Please feel free to bring popup tents and chairs for your comfort.

While attending the event check out the GTM’s Visitor Center, the ocean and the hiking/biking trails at the GTM Reserve.  Learn more about the GTM Reserve at www.gtmnerr.org.  Race proceeds help support the GTM Reserve.

Most importantly, North Guana Outpost will have a post-race party at 4415 Mickler Rd., Ponte Vedra Bch., FL (about 12 miles north of event site) starting at 6:00 pm.  Please join us for “beverages”, live entertainment and good times.
