PaddleSplash 2018 Alameda

October 19 - October 21, 2018 @ 1251 Pacific Marina, Alameda, CA 94501, USA

GENERAL INFO

The PaddleSplashTM is a series of races produced by Nor Cal SUP Groms & Mike’s Paddle for Stand Up Paddle Boarders of all ages, sizes, and abilities.  The festival takes place on beautiful Lake Natoma at the Nimbus Flat State Park and in Alameda at Encinal Yacht Club. Lake Natoma and the Oakland Estuary are perfect places to paddle - with lots of sun and a long flat course so paddlers can go as fast as they can without a strong headwind - and they get to try it on fresh water and salt water! Each festival includes a 6 mile competitive race, a kids obstacle course, and a 4-person team relay obstacle course.

Nor Cal SUP Groms and Mike’s Paddle uses PaddleSplashTM to promote an active lifestyle without the grind of going to an indoor gym day in and day out. Playing outside and on the water is fun and healthy. Because of that, SUP is a great complementary sport for children who participate in high impact sports like football, soccer, and lacrosse as it is low impact in addition to strengthening the body’s core. These beliefs are fundamental to PaddleSplash’s vision to create SUP programs for juniors - also called “SUP Groms programs” in the SUP world - supported by the proceeds of the PaddleSplashTM.

Participants, sponsors and vendors participating in the festival also share in this vision and lifestyle.
