45th Annual Toms River Paddle Race

Proud to be part of the Mid-Atlantic Surfski Series. Races consist of an 8.5 mile down river and a 4 and 6 mile open water race. The Open Water event begins with a group start and follows a 2 mile loop east of Huddy Park in a sheltered bay. The open water classes include recreational and touring kayaks, surfski, outrigger canoe, and SUPs. New this year Life Guard closed hull rowboats! Racers will compete in 4 or 6 miles distances. Winning times range from 15 minutes for the 4 mile and 1 hour plus for the 6 mile.  The Down River race is 8.5 miles and held on the Toms River from Riverwood Park to Huddy Park in the center of Toms River, NJ. The course is 85% slow moving water with many turns. Solo and tandem canoes and kayaks and our new Youth Fun Race are typical river racers. As always free transportation for you and your boat to the start. Winning times range from 1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. New this year a Youth Fun Race! Shorter 4.5 mile course for 16 yr. olds and younger. Scout leaders and or parents responsible for transportation to the start. Class winners receive our famous wooden  paddle trophy for 1st place, 2nd and 3rd place receive a race medal. A minimum of two paddlers required in class for awards. FREE T SHIRT TO THE FIRST 40 RACERS REGISTERED!
For your safety PFD's are required. If crossing the finish line without a PFD you will not be scored. You should also have appropriate foot wear. Come paddle with us for safe fun day on the water.
