WHATEVER you do don’t miss WHATEVER IT TAKES ON GUN LAKE, Shaka SUP Racing’s season finale paddle race on Gun Lake, Michigan.
As a new 2019 event, “Whatever It Takes on Gun Lake” is our end-of-the-season race, and is part of a 2nd weekend race series along with “Paddle for YOUR Cause” on Lake Lansing, Haslett, MI on 9/21/19. This event also wraps up Midwest Paddle League 2019 racing series with trophy ceremony to follow. We are offering a 1 mile course for youth/beginners/intermediates, and for the more experienced/want a challenge we are offering 3 and 6 mile courses. We also opened up the racing craft categories to surfskies and outriggers, 30 divisions in all.
It’s also our honor to announce Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary, the Mid West’s largest sheltered no-kill sanctuary for dogs, Lake Odessa, MI as our supporting charity for this event. It was founded by the Azzar family in August of 1999 after the passing of their beloved dog Mackenzie. Go to mackenzies.info for more information.
BUT, if racing and charity isn’t the only reason you come out, there will of of course be an END-OF-SEASON AFTER PARTY to celebrate Community (MPL - Community 1st, Competition 2nd!)! So come on out for one last paddle, whether your its your first time or competing for those final MPL series points...Whatever It Takes on Gun Lake is a great way to say Aloha summer!
No Equipment, No Problem! Gun Lake Rentals are available right next door for SUP and Kayak equipment needs.
