THE ANNUAL BAKER RIVER REGATTA

MVCS is hosting the 3rd Baker River Regatta on Saturday, May 1, 2021. With both a short and long course, as well as novice and expert classes, this is a race for all paddlers!

To keep everyone safe and healthy, we have developed COVID-19 Race Protocols. Masks and Social Distancing are required for all when not racing. Please take the time to read through all of our COVID mitigation requirements so you know what to expect on race day. Racers are specifically encouraged to preregister online to minimize registration lines at the race, but race-day registration is still available. Pre-registration deadline is April 30 at 1:00pm

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, chili and baked goods will not be offered at the finish line. Please bring your own snacks and water to enjoy after the race at our event ceremony.

BAKER RIVER REGATTA COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Water Level Update, Thursday 4/29/21: Recent rain has brought the river up close to its median flow for this time of year. There will be no course changes on either the Long or Short Courses. Paddlers should expect a deep, quick moving mountain river with lots of corners, but few obstacles and no waves - lots of fun!

LOW WATER ANNOUNCEMENT, Monday 4/26/21: In case of low water on race day, the Short Course will not change. The Long Course may move to the deeper water of the Pemi River, starting and ending at the Plymouth Riverside Amphitheater/Boat Launch on Green Street. This is a great course as well. The race committee will make the final call on venue on Friday morning, based on the amount of rain that falls this week. Fingers crossed for substantial precipitation on Wednesday and Thursday, but all options are good options!!!
