• The 1-Mile Short Course with an ocean start is a great fit for paddlers who are less experienced or just want to enjoy a more relaxed race with a friendly vibe.
• The Mike Vaughan Memorial 5-Mile Distance Race will provide an iconic and high performance course, attracting the world/s best paddlers. This years event is a two loop course (totaling 5 miles) right in front of the famous Santa Monica pier.
• SUP Sprint Racing in the surf will provide a dynamic sporting spectacle in a fast paced, elimination format that will see the top contenders competing round after round until the Final.

Warning: Some of our races involve a beach start which means that racers will have to navigate in and out of the surf zone.  For everyone's safety, we encourage all racers to make certain that they have significant experience with launching from the beach through ocean waves.  We encourage novice and event-intermediate paddlers to take one more class with a certified instructor.

Important Reminders:

USCG (United States Coast Guard) approved PFD (personal floatation device) is required of all SUP racers to participate in the Distance Race. SUP racers will not be allowed to start without PFD.

1-Mile Short Course (Paddleboard Event)

• SUP: Men & Women - 14' & Under: Age Divisions 17 & Under, 18+ (awards 1-3 men, 1-3 women in each age division)
• Prone: Men & Women - 10'6", Stock 12' & Unlimited: Age Divisions 17 & Under, 18+ (awards 1-3 men, 1-3 women in each age division)

SUP Sprint Racing (Paddleboard Event)

• SUP: Men & Women - 14' & Under; Open Division (awards 1-3 men, 1-3 women)
